Sciatic nerve-wracking generally cause Sciatica. Disorders known to trigger gastrointestinal nerve pain include lumbar spine subluxations (misaligned prostate body/ies), herniated or bulging discs (slipped discs), pregnancy and childbirth, tumors, and non-spinal ailments such as diabetes, constipation, or sitting on the back pocket wallet.

One common cause of sciatica is piriformis syndrome. Piriformis syndrome is named after the muscle. The piriformis muscle is located in the lower portion of the spine, connects to the thighbone, also aids in hip rotation. The sciatic nerve runs under the piriformis muscle. This muscle is vulnerable to injury from a difference in leg length, or a slip and fall, or neck injury. Such situations can lead to spasms and cramping developing from the muscle, thereby entrapping the nerve and resulting in pain and inflammation.

Upper Cervical Chiropractic's purpose is to help the human body's potential by removing impediments to normal neurological function. It's based upon the scientific principle that spinal motion leads to decreased function and pain and functionality. Blair Upper Chiropractic care is non-invasive (non-surgical) and drug-free.

Blair Upper Cervical chiropractic is unique in that its goal is to remove irritation to the brainstem and not treat pain at its location. The brainstem is responsible for controlling the tone of the piriformis muscle. As a result, a neck injury can be the underlying cause of a tight piriformis muscle. Correcting this most vital area in the neck can in many cases alleviate chronic sciatic caused by piriformis syndrome.

What Does A Blair Upper Cervical Chiropractor Do?

BLAIR upper cervical chiropractors are specifically trained to locate neck misalignments. Precise x-rays are taken of each joint to determine its direction of misalignment and the angle of joint. Upper Cervical chiropractors then use this information to precisely correct the misaligned joint. The correction does not use any twisting popping or pulling of the neck.

Once a spinal correction is made the patient is then monitored over time with objective tests to determine whether a spinal correction is necessary or not. Over time the body is able to heal the damaged tissue and the neck joints become healthy which leads to not only relief of musculoskeletal symptoms but oftentimes other health conditions that the patient did not know were connected.
